Why GGM Tools? A Fair Deal Between Cheap and Premium

Anyone who equips a workshop faces the same choice sooner or later. On one side there are budget tool trolleys that look fine in photos and start rattling after six months. On the other side stand the big premium names, where a serious part of the price pays for the logo, the dealer network and the catalogue — not for the steel. GGM Tools was built around a third option: a fair deal between cheap and premium.

Where cheap trolleys actually fail

The weak points of a low-cost trolley are always the same: thin sheet metal that twists under load, drawer slides without ball bearings that jam when a drawer carries real weight, and soft tool steel that rounds off on the first stubborn bolt. None of this is visible in a product photo. All of it shows up within the first year of daily work.

Technology that convinces

Our cabinets are built the way the premium class builds them. The Retter R12, for example, uses a cold-rolled steel body with a scratch-resistant powder coating, fully extendable drawers on ball-bearing slides, central locking with a cylinder lock and heavy-duty castors with a parking brake. Each drawer carries serious loads day after day — this is equipment designed for workshops, not for garages that see a screwdriver twice a year.

Tools built to standard

The tool sets are where the difference is easiest to measure. Sockets and ratchets are made from hardened chrome-vanadium steel to DIN 3124 and ISO 2725 — the same standards the established German brands work to. Fine-tooth ratchets, laser-marked foam inlays with two-colour visual control, complete socket ranges instead of gap-filled assortments. Open a drawer and every tool has its place; close it at the end of the shift and a missing tool is spotted in seconds.

What you don't pay for

What we deliberately left out is the overhead: no showroom network, no sponsorship budgets, no distributor chain adding a margin at every step. We import directly and sell directly. That is the whole trick — and the reason a trolley with near-premium materials can cost a fraction of the premium price tag.
